Driven by Nature
On October 4, 1984 — Dushera day — 18 citizens of Dahod gathered with a shared conviction: that the natural world around them was worth protecting. They founded Prakruti Mitra Mandal, a name that translates simply as Friends of Nature Society.
Forty years later, PMM has grown to 600+ members and 13 active wings — planting thousands of trees, preserving native tree species, promoting native tree plantation across Dahod, and educating generations of children to love the natural world.
We are based in Dahod, Gujarat — a district rich in forests, wildlife, and tribal traditions of living close to the land. Our work spans the entire district, from Dahod city to its surrounding villages and forests.
Four Decades of Service
Founded on Dushera (October 4) by 18 nature-loving citizens of Dahod, Gujarat.
Snake Rescue team formally established. First coordinated wildlife rescue operations begin.
Publication of the Dashabdi Patrika.
Student Nature Club launched — bringing nature education to Dahod's schools.
First Vaidik Holi awareness campaign in Dahod city — promoting eco-friendly celebration.
Silver Jubilee celebrations. 200+ active members across 8 committees.
Eco-Friendly Ganpati workshop launched to protect Dahod's water bodies from PoP pollution.
Native tree preservation initiative begins — protecting Dahod's native species and promoting native tree plantation across the district.
600+ active members. 14 wings fully operational across Dahod district.
Digital presence established. Website launched at prakrutimitramandal.in.
Ruby Jubilee — 40 years of protecting nature in Dahod. Work continues across all 13 wings.
